Rare medal, known from the Czapski collection minted on the occasion of the death of merchant M. W. von Fischer, founder of an orphanage for girls in Riga (Fischer Institute). On the obverse is a half-length portrait of Fischer with his coat folded, on the reverse is a view of the orphanage, in front of which a personified mercy receives two girls, who are introduced by a woman. Medal by Loos. Silver. Weight 27.7 g. Small microscratches in the background of the obverse. Medal with beautiful mint luster. Rare in this state of preservation.
